HeALiVA is a Business Start-Up founded in October 2018 under the Tycoon Enterprise Competition. It focuses on selling holistic accessories such as necklaces, earrings and rings with semi-precious gemstones, providing latest trends for affordable price with holistic approach behind it.

MGT3193 Business Start-Up module was designed to transfer our theoretical knowledge into real world environment and to experience the business world outside University. During the process our team came up with creating name/logo, conducting market research, stating price strategy method, allocating our target audience, conducting questionnaires to actual cooperation with suppliers abroad, launching website and social media accounts, and trending experience in MDXmas Market, Brent Cross Pop-Up Unit, The Teenage Market.

Every member of the team brought something to the table of business development. From the start we understood our differences in background, experience, knowledge and communication. However, acknowledging these differences for a better integration of the group was not enough as, obviously, each member of our team has a totally different agenda and that could sometimes benefit our business, but mostly hindered the operations process. As within most of organisations, there were difficulties and misunderstanding due to the unequal contribution, lack of motivation or effort and general involvement itself.

Overall, this opportunity enabled me to gather unreplaceable entrepreneurship business experience, unleashing my creative side and understand the difference between theoretical in-class lectures and practice based learning. Moreover, I believe that it was an opportunity to contribute back into community, showing people the ways to connect their mind and body together through spiritual and holistic beliefs. Every 15% of our profit goes to charity for Mental Health Foundation to support people who live with the mental discomfort.

I believe that it is essential to put yourself out there as soon as possible and gain as much practical experience as possible.
